Club Director and 16U State Coach
Kandys Graham
Kandys has 10 years of coaching experience at varying levels ranging from middle school to the collegiate level. Kandys played club volleyball from the age of 10 and continued to play on a national level until she graduated high school. After high school, Kandys had multiple collegiate offers and ultimately decided to continue her education at Ferris State University.

Tournament Director and 16U Regional Coach
Kyle Crandell
Kyle was an integral part of the creation of Avalanche Volleyball Club. He has dedicated years of his life to the growth of some of Northern Michigan's best volleyball athletes. Kyle has experience working with athletes from every age group and has always worked incredibly hard to improve and grow the club to accommodate more athletes and strengthen their experience!

14U Regional
Coach Brittney
Brittney has been coaching volleyball for four years, working with athletes from 7th through 10th grade. This is her first season with Avalanche, and she’s excited to join a program that prioritizes both player development and strong team culture. While she’s committed to building solid volleyball skills, Brittney also believes in coaching the whole athlete. She is passionate about teaching confidence, teamwork, discipline, and other life skills athletes can carry with them long after the season ends. Her goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where players can learn, grow, and challenge themselves to become their best—both on and off the court.

14U State
Coach Mikenna
Mikenna is entering her second season with AVC, bringing over 12 years of volleyball experience. She played four years at Spring Arbor University, earning a Sports Management degree and developing a strong interest in mental health in athletics. Mikenna has coached at the varsity level during summer seasons and is passionate about helping athletes grow. She loves being part of the AVC family and is excited to continue contributing to the program.

16U Regional
Coach Marlene
With an impressive travel volleyball coaching tenure spanning over 14 years including Petoskey, Onaway, and Boyne City, Coach Marlene brings a wealth of experience to the volleyball court. Serving as the Junior Varsity coach for Petoskey for has only deepened her passion for guiding young athletes. Her joy lies in not just refining their game skills, but also in creating opportunities for off-season play. Coach Marlene's mission goes beyond the court – she aspires to instill a profound love and respect for the game of volleyball, fostering a team spirit that transcends the boundaries of the sport.

16U State
Coach Molly
Molly has coached in Northern Michigan for over 8 years at high school and club levels. She brings a high-energy, all-in approach to her teams. She works hard to improve players’ volleyball IQ and their love of the game. Her favorite part of coaching with Avalanche is seeing all the athletes continue to come back year after year and see their improvement along the way!

18U Regional
Coach Daryl
Daryl brings eight years of experience coaching girls’ volleyball, working with athletes from 14U through 18U across both indoor hardcourt and outdoor sand. His coaching philosophy is deeply influenced by his own playing background throughout the ’90s and ’00s—including indoor men’s intercollegiate volleyball at Calvin University and competitive coed and men’s doubles on both grass and sand.
Daryl considers it a true privilege to help guide athletes not only in their volleyball skills but in their holistic growth as young women. He emphasizes values such as treating others with respect, practicing honesty, maintaining a strong work ethic, and embracing a team-first mindset—lessons he hopes will serve them well both on and far beyond the court.
